On the 20th of February, CIIMAR was privileged to receive a visit from the Secretary of State for Maritime Affairs, Dr. José Maria Costa.
During the visit, Dr. José Maria Costa had the opportunity to get to know the CIIMAR laboratories, which cover its three main research lines.
The visit provided a detailed look at the advances and ongoing projects, highlighting CIIMAR’s commitment to being at the forefront of Ocean knowledge and innovation. The Bioterium of Aquatic Organisms, essential for advancing research at CIIMAR, and the site designated for the future installation of the Hub Azul Leixões (HAL) were also visited, where the Blue Biobank of the North will be implemented, a project that will spotlight Portugal’s role in the knowledge and preservation of the planet’s biodiversity.
