The President of the board of CIIMAR joins this FCT Scientific Council from April 2023
Vitor Vasconcelos, Full Professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and President of the board of CIIMAR was appointed by the President of the Foundation for Science and Technology – FCT – as a member of the Scientific Council for Natural Sciences and the Environment from April 2023, having been a member of this FCT Scientific Council between 2013 and 2016.
The FCT Scientific Councils are bodies of regular consultation and support to the Board of Directors for strategic advice and recommendations on the development, implementation and modification of support programmes for science and technology. The 1st meeting that will bring together the 4 FCT Scientific Councils (Exact Sciences and Engineering, Life and Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities and Natural Sciences and the Environment), will take place on 19 April at the Thalia Theatre, in Lisbon.
Vítor Vasconcelos is also a member of the scientific board of the National Museum of Natural History in Paris since 2019.
