Érica Cortez de Lima is a chemical engineer graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, in 2018. Obtained her MSc in quality control with specialization in water and food at Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto, in 2023. She acquired scientific experience in the field of bromatology, liquid chromatography and mass detection with a focus on food safety and quality control. Érica is currently a research grantee at CIIMAR, part of the Natural Products and Medicinal Chemistry team, developing environmentally friendly substances from food waste that prevent biofouling on vessels.
