He is currently pursuing a doctorate at the State University of Bahia, Brazil. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Engineering and a Master’s degree in Fisheries Resources and Aquaculture, with a focus on the ecology and reproductive biology of fish from the sub-middle São Francisco River in northeastern Brazil. He is currently undertaking an external doctoral thesis at CIIMAR, which is focused on the study of the population structure, migratory pattern and habitat connectivity of Plagioscion squamosissimus in the sub-middle São Francisco River. This is achieved through the use of morphological and microchemical analyses of otoliths.
