CIIMAR is represented today at the Marine Ingredients Organisation (IFFO) annual conference taking place in Lisbon by the researcher Luisa Valente.
This major event is dedicated to marine ingredients and is mostly targeted to the business world, as is attended by more than 500 delegates from 43 countries.
Luísa Valente, a researcher and member of CIIMAR’s Board of Directors, will speak at the opening session, addressing the future of protein sources and highlighting the importance of the connection between science and communication.
IFFO is an international trade organisation that represents the marine ingredients industry, such as fishmeal, fish oil and other related industries. The organization’s 250 members are spread over some 50 countries, representing more than 55% of world production and 80% of global marketing of fishmeal and fish oil.
IFFO is an accredited Observer to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
The 2024 IFFO Annual Conference will take place over three days from Monday to Wednesday and deliver a sound mix of business related topics and social networking.
