The project “OCEAN SLIM-G” won 3rd place in the BIP Acceleration programme.
The project “OCEAN SLIM-G,” developed by CIIMAR researchers Ana Catarina Fonseca, Ana Rita Vieira, Filipe Henriques, Mariane Bittencourt Fagundes, and Ralph Urbatzka, won 3rd place in the BIP Acceleration, a programme by the University of Porto that supports research teams in transforming innovative projects into viable businesses.
The idea behind “OCEAN SLIM-G” is the production of an effective and safe gummy aimed at human consumption, designed to reduce appetite, offering an ocean-inspired solution to combat overweight and obesity.
At the final event, held on October 22 at Porto Business School, the team delivered their pitch, standing out among the 10 teams selected for the competition. As recognition, the project received a prize of €2,000, a pre-incubation period offered by UPTEC, and specialized entrepreneurship consulting, courtesy of Porto Business School.
