The 2024 Highly Cited Researchers list, compiled by Clarivate, once again acknowledges Lúcia Guilhermino as one of the researchers who has significantly contributed to her field on a global scale.
This prestigious list identifies researchers whose work has had a profound and far-reaching impact in their areas of expertise. According to Clarivate, “through rigorous selection criteria and exhaustive analysis, we recognize researchers whose exceptional contributions and community-focused efforts are shaping the future of science, technology, and academia on a global level.”
Selection is based on the fact that each researcher included has authored several highly cited papers, ranking in the top 1% of citations in their respective fields and year of publication on the Web of Science™ over the past decade. Among the global scientific community, only 1 in 1,000 researchers achieves this level of recognition.
In 2024, a total of 6,886 awards were given to 6,636 researchers worldwide (some researchers were recognized in more than one scientific area). In Portugal, 18 researchers were honored.
