CIIMAR is open to hosting Science Journalism residencies, funded by the FRONTIERS program.
As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations this year, CIIMAR is open to hosting journalists who wish to develop their projects in marine science and environmental studies. Journalists interested in a residency at CIIMAR can apply for funding through the FRONTIERS Residency Program, funded by the European Research Council.
The FRONTIERS residency program is dedicated to science journalism, aiming to support journalistic projects on cutting-edge science. FRONTIERS currently has an open call for journalists early in their careers, with up to 5 years of experience.
The call is open until May 6, 2025 (17:00 CEST). Residencies at CIIMAR can last from 3 to 5 months, with a grant of up to €4,000/month for project implementation.
This is a great opportunity for science journalists to immerse themselves in the work of researchers tackling challenges such as climate change, food security, and ocean sustainability.
