The 1st General Assembly of the Blue Bioeconomy Pact consortium, funded by the PRR was held in the auditorium of the Lisbon Oceanarium on 29 May 2023 with the presence of 80 of the 83 institutions participating in the consortium and with the presence of the Minister of Economy and Sea, the Secretary of State for the Sea, the President of IAPMEI and the President of the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation.
CIIMAR participates in 5 vertical projects (Fish, Feed, Food, Bivalves and Algae) and in two transversal projects, coordinating the Portuguese Blue Biobank, and was represented in this General Assembly by Susana Moreira, and Vitor Vasconcelos was also present, as member of the executive board of the consortium. CIIMAR has a budget of 6.3 million euros, which will enable the hiring of 36 human resources in a project that will end at the end of December 2025.
