The “CIIMAR WATCH” programme is already underway and aims to protect coastal ecosystems in a region threatened by human activity.
“CIIMAR WATCH” is the name of the latest CIIMAR monitoring programme.
Launched on July 17th, the programme’s main objective is to deepen the understanding of the marine ecosystems along the northern coast of Portugal, which are currently facing significant conservation challenges.
The initiative covers two main monitoring areas, located in the region of Viana do Castelo (VIANA WATCH) and the region of Porto (PORTO WATCH).
CIIMAR WATCH represents a robust and cohesive program, offering a holistic view of environmental dynamics, which is essential for the conservation of the monitored ecosystems.
