CIIMAR project MAELSTROM H2020 invites you to join the webinar “Inspiring Science and Society to tackle Marine Litter”, taking place as a Satellite Activity of the United Nations Ocean Decade under the call “A Clean Ocean” on November 18th.
Several organizations will attend the webinar, including World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the BlueMed Initiative, the Portuguese Plastics Pact, the Open Science Platform and the marGnet project.
The event aims at identifying best practices and existing gaps among stakeholders to direct future efforts to the set-up of a Joint Strategy for Marine Litter Networking Actions foreseen as a deliverable of the MAELSTROM H2020 project. The strategy’s goal will be to strengthen synergies among multiple actors to address existing challenges on marine litter removal, identification, recycling and marketizing actions.
The event is jointly organized by MAELSTROM’s partners: Interdisciplinary Centre for Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR), CIMA Research Foundation, CRN-ISMAR and Venice Lagoon Plastic Free.
The webinar will take place through the Zoom platform on the 18th of November from 09.30 am – 04.00 pm CET (Central European Time).
