This seminar will be held in collaboration with EMBL as part of the TREC expedition, which CIIMAR will be hosting.

Title: Imaging Marine Symbiosis

Symbiotic interactions between eukaryotes and prokaryotes are abundant in all habits in the sea. To understand these relationship, imaging approaches are crucial. By optimizing preservation in the field and combining it with cutting edge technologies we can achieve unprecedented insights into marine symbiosis, ranging from the deep-sea to the shallow waters.

Name: Nikolaus Leisch (EMBL)

Niko Leisch, a marine biologist who hails from a landlocked country, has recently joined EMBL to build up Mobile Labs for the TREC expedition and the European scientific community.

The seminar will take place at CIIMAR headquarters (Boca da Baleia Auditorium).
