Marta Correia da Silva was one of the five winners of this year’s edition of the “Womenture” program, with her OceanCare Chemicals project.
Marta Correia da Silva, CIIMAR researcher and a professor at the Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (FFUP), is one of the five awardees of this year’s edition of Womenture, a European-level women’s entrepreneurship program, co-funded by the European Union.
This year’s competition attracted 247 proposals from 39 different countries. The researcher’s project, OceanCare Chemicals, aims at the development and application of compounds in paints used on ships, with the purpose of preventing marine biofouling without harming the oceans.
As an acknowledgment, Marta Correia da Silva will have the opportunity to travel to Estonia to participate in an international event, where she will present her business idea, along with the other awardees.
