Alice Ramos, obtained a PhD degree in Biology in 2011, at the University of Minho, Portugal, under a project run in cooperation with the University of Oslo, Norway. She is currently auxiliar researcher at CIIMAR, and auxiliary professor at ICBAS – University of Porto. Her scientific interests are related with the anticancer effects of natural compounds (e.g. isolated from marine organisms) through effects on cell proliferation and cell death signaling pathways, and the protective effects of natural compounds through protection of DNA from damage and induction of DNA repair activity.
