Fernando Durães obtained his MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2014 at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto. He has worked as a Research Grantee in a financed project related to the synthesis of bioactive compounds with capability to circumvent antimicrobial resistance, at the Natural Products and Medicinal Chemistry Group, CIIMAR. Fernando Durães is currently a PhD student in the same group, and is pursuing the synthesis of new compounds with antimicrobial activity and bacterial efflux pump modulation, both in clinically relevant bacteria and in Cyanobacteria.
