Mariana Fernandes is a MSc student in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the Faculty of Sciences (University of Porto), holding a BSc in Biology from the same institution.
She is developing her MSc thesis project at CIIMAR, investigating enzymes responsible for plastic degradation. With focus on 3D modelling and other computational methodologies, her project aims to optimize these enzymes for potential applications in environmental cleanup.
