CIIMAR researcher comments new record in sea surface temperatures on SIC TV

During an interview on SIC TV, CIIMAR researcher Irina Gorodetskaya commented on the concerning news of record-breaking high sea surface temperatures. According to NOAA scientists, the global average sea surface temperature reached its highest level (21.1°C) last week since 1980, surpassing the previous record set in 2016 during a major El Niño year. Compounding the issue, a new El Niño appears to be on the horizon, with early signs already emerging.
